Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions

Anna Atkins: “Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions,” appeared in 1843. It contained over 250 captioned cyanotypes, complete with several pages of text against the iconic Prussian blue paper. By 1850 she produced 12 additional parts in collaboration with her close friend, Anne Dixon. Atkins made her last photographic work, an album entitled “Cyanotypes of British and Foreign Flowering Plants and Ferns,” in 1854.
